Using an SMA terminator or Dummy Load is suggested for protection of the SMA port of your RF Explorer (or other device) when the device is exposed to unwanted high radiation or strong electronic fields. For instance, if you carry your RF Explorer through an airport and it is exposed to an X-Ray scanner, you should remove any antenna and attach the 50Ohm SMA termination for protection. It is also important for the RF Explorer Signal Generator to prevent accidental RF power overload without a load attached.
